To qualify with Veterans Staffing & Recruiting Services, you must meet the following criteria:
 
The Federal Regulations set forth minimum standards for drivers of all vehicles over 10,000 lbs GVW or GVWR operating in interstate commerce. The driver must demonstrate that he/she meets these Minimum Federal Requirements:

Is 21 years of age
Can sufficiently read and speak the English language
Can safely operate the type of equipment he/she will be assigned to drive
Is physically qualified
Has a valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
Has provided Veterans Staffing & Recruiting Services with a list of moving violations for the past three years
Is not disqualified to drive
Has a road test certificate or equivalent (usually a CDL)
 

Veterans Staffing & Recruiting Services also maintains more stringent minimum driver standards as follows:

Experience: A minimum of 1 year recent experience (having driven sometime within the past 12 months) driving the type of equipment that the driver will be assigned to operate or a total of 2 years experience (within the past 5 years)
Accidents: No DOT defined accidents (one resulting in a fatality, or injury requiring treatment away from the scene, or disabling damage requiring a vehicle to be towed) in the past three years in which the driver was cited for a moving violation in connection with the crash or charged with responsibility for the crash in any type of motor vehicle
Violations: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years in any type of motor vehicle
Serious Offenses: No convictions for any of the following offenses in the past 7 years in any type of vehicle:
Driving under the influence of alcohol (as prescribed by state law, or refusing to test)
Driving under the influence of a controlled substance
Leaving the scene of an accident
More than one excessive speeding (15 mph or more above the posted speed limit)
Reckless driving
A moving violation in connection with a fatal accident
Vehicular manslaughter or vehicular homicide
Eluding a police officer
