Kitchen Assistant
Full time/Part time position: 30 to 40 hours per week (hours not guaranteed)
Working hours: Monday through Sunday as needed, predominately Monday through Friday 9 am to 3pm (approximate)
Pay: Hourly $10
Benefits/paid time off: 1 week paid of vacation after 2 years of employment, 2 weeks paid after 3 years of employment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to multi task in a fast paced every changing environment while producing a high quality consistent food product.
  •  
  • Assist in managing inventory to include pantry, walk in and freezer organization to assure quality by checking expiration dates, supply levels to control costs and general organization to save time.
  •  
  • Weekly product and produce organization, cleaning and organizing of the pantry and walk-in to include checking expiration dates.
  •  
  • Cleaning and assist in maintaining the kitchen to insure impeccable rating from Health Inspector when inspected
  • Keep a list of products needed and kitchen staples as they are consumed.
  •  
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized to include quarterly deep cleaning with head chef.
  • Follow opening and closing checklists.
  •  
  • Prepare food in a timely manner to assure quality product and adhere to all special requests and restrictions of clients as instructed to include but not limited to light prep work.
  •  
  • Cooling, labeling and properly storing food according to health department regulations.
  •  
  • Washing and sanitizing all dishes, small wares and cookware in a timely manner and according to the health department specification.
  •  
  • General overall cleaning and sanitizing throughout the cook day of the kitchen. 
  • Taking out the trash as needed.
  •  
  • Loading coolers for delivery according to policy.
  •  
  • Sweeping and mopping daily.
  •  
  • Attention to detail is a must. All client guidelines are followed especially allergies and specific wants and needs as noted on the chef menu and working knowledge of the client.
  •  
  • Assist with food delivery as needed to all assigned clients by 6 pm.
  •  
  • Assist in the organization of the daily preparation of food to insure high quality and prepared in a timely manner. Food packaged and packed in coolers to deliver to clients in a timely manner between 4 and 6 pm.
  •  
  • Check in products from vendors as needed.
  •  
  • Assist with various functions The Kitchen Table is involved in such as charity events and caterings in the evenings and weekends.
  •  
  • Basic computer knowledge and other electronics and necessary to include printer, computers and smartphones.
  •  
  • Ensure cost control measures to minimize waste by not over purchasing (when needed), watching portion sizes to insure ample sizes for clients cost of service and minimizing spoilage (FIFO).
  •  
  • Other duties as assigned.
  •  
  • Customer-Service – professional interaction with all clients to insure continuation of services.
  •  
  • Actively participate in team meetings and work effectively as a team.
  •  
  • Assist in marketing  to the public in a professional manner.
  •  
  • Report directly to executive chef/kitchen manager
