Acoustic Ceiling Mechanic #9381340

Must be Apply plasterboard or other wallboard to ceilings or interior walls of buildings. Apply or mount acoustical tiles or blocks, strips, or sheets of shock-absorbing materials to ceilings and walls of buildings to reduce or reflect sound. Materials may be of decorative quality. Includes lathers who fasten wooden, metal, or rockboard lath to walls, ceilings or partitions of buildings to provide support base for plaster, fire-proofing, or acoustical material.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
  • Install acoustical ceiling grid and tile
  • Measure and mark the surface according to blueprints and drawings
  • Communicates effectively with others in all phases of work and is safety oriented
  • Ensures job site remains clean and orderly
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrates dependability, accountability and initiative
  • Knowledge of basic tools i.e. ability to read and use a tape measurer
  • A year of experience in the field is preferred, but not required
Physical Demands:
  • Requires strenuous physical work including heavy lifting, working on hands/knees, pushing, or pulling objects and being in dusty conditions is common
Conditions of employment:
  • Must be able to pass background and pre-employment drug test
